Credit Cards For all Credit
Credit Cards-
Buying something now, and paying for it later, it can be easy to lose track of
how much you have spent by the time your monthly statement arrives. And if you
are unable to repay your balance in full, you will incur finance charges on your
unpaid balance. And if you continue to use your credit card, while you still
have an unpaid balance, the debt on your credit card will continue to grow and
grow. A negative credit report can make it more difficult for you to finance a
car or home, get insurance, and even get a job. That is why it is important not
to over use your credit card, and when you do use it, use it only to a point
where you can easily repay the debt in full when your bill is due.
There are federal
protections for consumers who use credit cards. If you find an error on your
bill, you must notify your credit card company in writing, within 60 days after
the first bill containing the error was mailed to you. In your letter, include:
your name; account number; the type, date, and amount of the error; and the
reason why you believe the bill contains an error. Your credit card company
must in return investigate the problem and either correct the problem on your
statement with in two billing cycles or 90 days after your credit card company
receives your billing error notice, or send you information on why the there was
no error on your bill.
If you happen to lose your
credit card, it is wise to report the loss as soon as possible. Most companies
will charge you $50 per card, if the card is lost and used, before you ever
report it. But if a thief uses your card before you report it missing, the most
the credit card companies can charge you is $50.
